Terrible Tandas

Terrible Tandas is a collection of tango, milonga or vals tandas that almost work.

At first glance – and maybe even first listen – they may seem perfectly fine. The orchestras match and everything looks correct on paper. And yet, something is off. A hidden flaw, a subtle break in flow, a structural stumble – the kind of detail that doesn’t ruin an evening outright, but quietly undermines the dance floor. These tandas are deliberately less than ideal for a milonga.

I invite you to listen more closely, think more critically, and sharpen you musical awareness. What exactly makes a tanda work? And why does one that looks correct still fail to support the dancers?

In my DJ seminars, we go beyond rules and recipes. Together, we analyse musical structure, danceability, orchestral character, and the overall flow of a milonga. You’ll learn how to build tandas that don’t just make sense technically, but feel right on the dance floor – supporting dancers, sustaining energy, and creating moments people remember.

Terrible Tandas shows you what goes wrong. The seminars teach you how to make it right.
